Good Morning from Saratoga. Blue Silks Racing Form is coming to you live from the SPA this weekend as the mid-summer Derby has arrived. It is a beautiful morning here in Saratoga Springs, New York and the weather is expected to be perfect to go along with a monster day of racing. Seven graded stakes today capped by the Traver's Stakes. It will be a fun and exciting day. So let's take a look at the card:

Race 1

Race 1 is highlighted by the Chad Brown Entry 1-1a-1x. I expect that the 1x will scratch out but that does leave the entry short. Both #1 Frontier Market and #1A Unleveraged come in having 2 wins and a place in their last three starts. They look primed and ready here. I would not be surprised to see them run first and second. If you are looking to upset the entry, a great place to look is at the #8 Lemonist. He has hit the board in nine straight including running second in his two starts at Saratoga. Another contender to watch out for is #5 Keep Quiet. He ran forth in his return to Saratoga and looks to take a step forward in his second start off a layoff.

Race 2

Race 2 is maiden two year olds and #1 Tap It to Win looks primed and ready. Ran second in his first start and ran a great drill in prep here. #4 Atoka just missed by a neck to finish third in his debut at Saratoga. He shortens up a little today and will look to have his speed carry through. #6 O'Trouble has been training up a storm in the morning and looks to explode on to the scene in his debut.

Race 3

#2 Charreada comes in having just missed last time out by a neck at Belmont. She was closing late and a little extra distance today could help her get that break through. #3 First Wave has run second in her two races and looks to break through today. #9 Dabinett returns after a very long layoff here. She put in good efforts in her two races last year and has looked very strong in the morning.

Race 4

There is a lot of early speed in the forth race and when that pace falls apart, I expect #8 T Loves a Fight to be flying to pickup the pieces. He is dropping back in class here and looks to be in good form. #11 Performer will be apart of the pace but stalking and has shown he can hold up with a first and third in his two races. #1 Shamrocked will try to steal this race on the front end and watch for him to lead them around. A soft enough pace and he could finish the job.

Race 5

Here is where we start our run of stakes races. #3 Mitole has his 7 race win streak broken last time out. He hit the gate at the start and I expect him to return to form with a good trip today. #1 Promises Fulfilled returned to his winning ways last time out when changing back to his favorite 7 furloughs distance. 5 starts with 3 wins and 2 thirds at the distance. Very logical contender. #6 Firenze Fire has all the class he needs to be a contender in this race. If he returns to the form he showed in the Runhappy, he will contend here.

Race 6

#4 Separationofpowers leads field into this sprint. She won last time out and returns to Saratoga where she is 2 for 3 and a third. Watch for her to go out fast and finish strong. Trying to deny her will be #2 Come Dancing, She just missed out to Midnight Bisou last time out who we will see later on the card. She returns to a sprint were her early speed will be more of an asset.  #6 Minit to Stardom comes in riding a three race winning streak including a Grade 2 last time out. A little tougher here but she certainly has the speed to mix it up.

Race 7

#1 Shancelot is my best bet of the day. He is the real deal sprinting and I can't wait to see him take on the older horses this fall. He almost broke the track record last time out while coasting home by 12. This horse is fast fast fast and I expect him to win again. #9 Hog Creek Hustle came flying late last time out with the race of his life to win a grade 1 at Belmont. Another effort like that could put him in the mix(for second). #8 Rowayton is coming back to sprinting where he has had much more success. Watch for him to grind into the mix.

Race 8

#3 Secret Message got beat by Sistercharlie last time out and there is no shame in that. Watch for her coming in late and taking the prize this time. #9 Mascha will also be coming late and looked good in her American Debut here at Saratoga. #8 Starship Jubilee just missed out her last two running second both times. She returns to a distance where she has won 3 of 6 starts. #2 Fifty Five just missed last time after 4 previous wins. She's started this distance 10 times and has never missed the board including 5 wins. Watch for her to come late and get a good piece of the prize.

Race 9

#1 Midnight Bisou is my top pick here. She comes in 5 for 5 this year and looks to break through today at 9 furloughs. She can do it and I believe today is the today she shows it. #4 Elate will try to deny her. She's shown she can win at this longer distance but did come up short when facing Midnight Bisou this spring. #5 Wow Cat and #6 Golden Award ran first and second last time out in a great race. They will be in the mix again with similar efforts.

Race 10

#6 Ya Primo ran a great second in his American debut. With that under his belt, he looks primed to take another step forward and take the top prize here. #4 Channel Cat beat him last time out and looks to prove that was no fluke. He certainly can get the job done and has shown he can get the 12 furlongs he needs today. #7 Annals of Time returns to stakes company here and has won 3 of his last 4 including a grade 1. #8 Channel Maker has all the class to win here and has put up good numbers in his last three starts.

Race 11

#7 Mucho Gusto missed out to Maximum Security in the Haskell last time out after winning 2 straight. He has shown improving form 4 straight and with another step forward, he will win the Travers. #12 Tax win the Jim Dandy earlier in the Saratoga meet and looks to follow that up with a win here. #6 Tacitus ran a solid second in the same race and his later running style should be helped by the extra distance today. #2 Code of Honor shook the rust off in a good win at Belmont and broke his maiden here at Saratoga. Shug is very high on his horse and he will be closing late. #9 Looking at Bikinis was on the Derby trail before his injury. The talent is there to win today. I expect a better effort today than the one in the mud last time out.

Race 12

#2 Fled is on a two race winning streak at this distance. Watch for him to make it 3 straight. #9 Ghost Giant looked good last time out behind #13 Dowse's Beach and #14 Banana Thief who will both be contenders if they draw into the race.

Race 13

#2 Pat Pat Pat just missed in her debut and will look to take the top spot today. #9 Five Alarm Robin has also put in some good efforts and can win with a step forward. #5 Magic Star makes her debut today and has looked great in the morning. Watch out for her today.
