Fair Grounds 01-18-2020
Today kicks off the 2020 Kentucky Derby Trail in Louisiana. While 36 horses currently have at least 1 Derby point, the road really heats up as we have moved in to 2020. Several horses will come out of the blue to be Derby contenders and several others will be come household names. The roads all lead to Churchill Downs but today marks the first of step for several horses on the Louisiana path. Its a full card at Fair Grounds with 13 races. Lots of maiden debuts mixed with a couple of fun stakes. Best of luck today. Here are our selections for Fair Grounds:

Race 3: 10-3-14-2
Race 4: 3-2-1-4

Race 10: 2-8-3-4
Race 11: 14-3-7-6
Race 12: 6-4-7-2
#6 Finite is the one to beat here. She comes out of an impressive Grade 2 win at Churchill Down and is en early leading candidate to win the Kentucky Oaks. #4 His Glory looks to rebound from a disappointing effort in the same race but she was in good form going into the Golden Rod. She comes back from a little break and will look to move forward. #7 Portrait comes in off a third in a Grade 3 at Churchill Downs but has been out on a longer break. She has looked sharp in the mornings since relocating to Fair Grounds. #2 Pass the Plate also moved down to Fair Grounds for the winter and also looked good in the mornings as well as coming in with a two race winning streak she will want to continue.
Race 13: 13-4-7-14
#13 Sycamore Run came out blazing in his debut at Fair Grounds and will look to stretch out today. His sire Street Sense is a Derby champion so he certainly has the bloodlines to win here today. #4 Scabbard has faced some impressive foes in his 4 starts and his only finish off the board was 4th in the Grade 1 Breeders Cup Juvenile. Look for him to be once again right in the mix. #7 Halo Again is 2 for 2 in his life including a solid stakes win at Woodbine. #14 Lynn's Map has won two straight including defeating several of the racers in today's field last time out. Look for him to take another step forward today.
