Race 1

#5 Appreciated has won two straight versus similar and his trainer wins 25% with first time claimers. #1 One Fast Bro has finished first or second in four straight. I expect him to be right in the mix again. #3 Offlee Naughty finally put it all together last time to break his maiden. He will be closing in late. #6 Dicey Mo Chara has hit all three slots on the board in his last three starts and looks to be in the mix again.

Race 2

2-4-6-3

#2 Lone Rock had won 4 straight before finishing second last time out. He looks well positioned to capture today’s race. #4 Tizamagician returns to a longer distance where he had finished first or second in four straight before his last effort going shorter that ended in a disappointing fifth. #6 Locally Owned upset Lone Rock last time out having moved to the longer distance. His breeding suggests that it wasn’t a fluke. #3 Cupid’s Claws looks to improve returning to the dirt. He also found some success at Del Mar over the summer with a solid second at a similar distance.

Race 3

2-7-1-3

#2 Princess Grace comes in a perfect 3 for 3 on the year and 3 for 3 at the distance. She is the class of the race. #7 Going Global is 5 for 6 this year but her lone second was at today’s mile distance. She’s certainly a strong contender for a top two finish again. #1 Zofelle had hit the board in three straight before her disappointing 6th last time. The break should help her and she can close in to get a piece late. #3 Abscond comes in having improved in her last two and is eligible to improve again with this being her third start off the layoff.

Race 4 Breeders’ Cup Fillies & Mare Sprint

5-6-4-3

#5 Gamine is as fast as they come and the defending champion of this race. Nothing in her efforts this year suggest she won reclaim her crown. #6 Bella Sofia is four for five with a second lifetime including blaze in the Test. After a short breather, she improved in her next race and has the speed to compete with Gamine. #4 Ce Ce has won two of her last three sprints and her lone defeat was a third behind Gamine. #3 Edgeway is three for four this year with her lone defeat also to Gamine.

Race 5 Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint

#3 Golden Pal won convincingly last time out after a disappointing trip to Europe. He is a very fast colt and a logically contender here. #2 Emaraaty Ana has won two of his last three and finished second in the other. #9 Kimari returns to the turf having won his last two on the dirt in very solid races. #1 Glass Slippers is the defending champion of this race will be flying in late.

Race 6 Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile

5-3-1-8

#5 Life is Good has only lost once and that was by a neck to Jackie’s Warrior. No shame in that. He dominated his last race returning to the mile where he is now two for two and has a great chance to make it three. #3 Ginobili has won two straight here at Del Mar. #1 Silver State has two wins and two places in four career efforts at the mile including a Grade 1 win. #8 Eight Rings won his last start and will look to build on that today.

Race 7 Breeders’ Cup Fillies & Mares Turf

#7 War Like Goddess has won four straight kicking away impressively in each. I love her in this spot today. #8 Loves Only You has hit the board in all four starts this year in Million dollar plus races. Look for her to be involved again today. #1 Going to Vegas has won three straight including an impressive Grade 1. #6 Love comes in from Europe having finished in the money is every start this year.

Race 8 Breeders’ Cup Sprint

#2 Jackie’s Warrior has been virtually perfect since returning to sprinting including winning three straight. He should win here today. #9 Dr. Schivel is three for three this year and three for three at Del Mar. He’s a strong contender here. #8 Special Reserve comes in a winner of four of his last five. #1 Following Sea returned to the winners circle last time out by returning to today’s 6F distance.

Race 9 Breeders’ Cup Mile

#3 Space Blues comes in a winner of two straight from Europe. Number look great for another victory. #6 Mo Forza is a winner of four straight Mile races including two here at Del Mar. He will look to add to that total today. #2 Smooth Like Strait has finished second in three straight being no more than a half length back. Look for him to be close again today. #10 Blowout won his last race bouncing back from a disappointing fourth at Saratoga.

Race 10 Breeders’ Cup Distaff

#6 Letruska has won 5 straight in impressive company and is a logical favorite. #8 Shedaresthedevil has won 4 of 5 this year only losing to Letruska and certainly can win here. #3 Malathaat has only lost one race by a head, winning her other six starts. She looks strong here. #2 Royal Flag went two for three over the summer with her lone defeat to Letruska. #4 Blue Stripe ships in from Argentina having won multiple graded stakes with strong numbers. Look for her to provide some value.

Race 11 Breeders’ Cup Turf

13-12-7-11

#13 Tarnawa is the defending champion of this race and returns from Europe to defend his title. He comes in having finished second in his last two. #12 Teona has won two straight shipping in from Europe and looks strong here. #7 Walton Street is another European but came over early to win at Woodbine in impressive fashion. #11 Gufo had one two straight before having a troubled trip last time out before finishing third.

Race 12 Breeders’ Cup Classic

4-3-5-9-6

#4 Essential Quality is 8 for 9 lifetime with his only loss in the Kentucky Derby. He has done everything you can ask of a three year old and looks to add to his resume racing against older for the first time. #3 Hot Rod Charlie has put up two strong wins over the summer. #5 Knicks Go is as fast as they come and has won three straight but hasn’t gone the distance today. We will see if his speed holds up going 10F. #9 Max Player has won two straight, both at 10F and is the only horse with more than one win at the distance. Look for him to close in from off the pace. #6 Art Collector has won three straight in impressive style since his trainer switch. He has all the tools to score the win today including a strong finishing kick!
