
Breeders’ Cup 2020: Rising Stars Day
It’s been a different year, here in 2020 but we land in a familiar place where champions will be crowned. Friday brings us our Rising Stars and Saturday brings us our well-known champions. It will be an exciting two days of racing and we wish you the best of luck.

Race #1
Picks: 1-6-9-4
#1 “Highly Motivated” just missed his first time out and then scored a decisive victory last time out. He looks sharp and ready. He will be closing late. #6 “Quick Tempo” won a good allowance race his last start. He will be part of the pace and will look to hold on. #9 “Saffa’s Day” broke his maiden impressively here at Keeneland so we know he likes the surface. He’ll look to repeat that effort today. #4 “Upstriker” looked good breaking his maiden, but faded late going longer. The shorter distance should help him today.
Race #2
Picks: 9-2-8-12
#9 “The Grass Is Blue” closed well in both of her starts, scoring good victories including an allowance win last start. She will look to close again today. #2 “Off We Go” improved from start one to start two where she broke her maiden here at Keeneland. She will look to press the pace and be involved late. #8 “Taylor’s Tourist” returns to the dirt today where she won almost 10 lengths in her debut. She will look to improve as she returns to a sprint distance. #12 “Kela’s Turn” is 2 for 2 including a non-graded stakes win. She looks primed and ready here today.
Race #3
Picks: 6-2-11-3
#6 “Fancy Liquor” is on a 2 race winning streak including a victory in the Grade 2 American Turf. He look to extend that winning streak here today. #2 “No Word” ran a solid second in the Grade 1 Belmont Derby. He will look to build on that today. #11 “Mo Ready” finished third in the Grade 1 Belmont Derby as he faded late. The shorter distance today should help him. #3 “Taishan” finished second behind “Fancy Liquor” in his turf debut and will look to improve off that effort today.
Race #4
Picks: 9-4-8-3
#9 “Royal Charlotte” finished third in a Grade 2 in her last time out. The drop-in class should benefit her. #4 “Into Chocolate” won a Grade 3 last time out and is well-positioned here. #8 “Wildwood’s Beauty” did not care for the polytrack last time out. She put up good efforts in two Grade 1s in her previous starts. She will appreciate the drop in class and returning to real dirt. #3 “Headland” has finished second in her last two and has shown improvement in her last three. Look for her to take a step forward today.
Race #5
Picks: 13-14-8-12
#13 “Cupid’s Claws” scored an impressive Grade 3 victory last time out. He has shown the ability to win at these longer distances. #14 “Danny California” led them gate to wire, scoring a non-graded stakes victory in his last effort building his winning streak to three. #8 “Ry’s the Guy” won at the mile and a half his last time out from the front in a non-graded stakes. #12 “Plus Que Parfait” has shown improving form in his last 3 starts hitting the board in his last 2. His closing style should suit the long distance today.
Race #6: BC Juvenile Turf Sprint
Picks: 14-10-11-13
#14 “Golden Pal” comes in as the decisive favorite will good reason. He won impressively in a non-graded stakes at Saratoga. He is lightning fast! #10 “Bodenheimer” scored a solid a victory in a non-graded stakes here at Keeneland in his last effort. #11 “Into the Sunrise” faded late last time out going longer, the shorter distance today should help his front running style. #13 “Second of July” is 2 for 2 including winning a Grade 3 in his most recent start.
Race #7: BC Juvenile Turf
Picks: 6-7-4-11
#6 “Mutasaabeq” won the Grade 2 Bourbon Stakes here at Keeneland in his turf debut. He finished strong after being forced wide. #7 “Fire At Will” won the Grade 2 Pilgrim in his last start, leading them gate to wire. #4 “Public Sector” finished 2nd to “Fire At Will” in his last effort and will look to take another step forward here today. #11 “Gretzky the Great” has won 3 in a row, including the Grade 1 Summer Stakes in his most recent run. He will look to make it four in a row today.
Race #8: BC Juvenile Fillies
Picks: 7-1-3-5
#7 “Princess Noor” is 3 for 3, including a Grade 2 win at today’s distance in her last start. Her pressing style suits today’s race. #1 “Simply Ravishing” is also 3 for 3, including a Grade 1 victory here at Keeneland. #3 “Dayoutoftheoffice” is also 3 for 3, including a Grade 1 and Grade 3 win. #5 “Girl Daddy” is 2 for 2, including a Grade 3 victory last time out.
Race #9: BC Juvenile Fillies Turf
Picks: 5-4-9-10
#5 “Aunt Pearl” is 2 for 2, including a Grade 2 win here at Keeneland in her most recent start. She will look to lead them around again today. #4 “Plum Ali” is 3 for 3, including a Grade stakes 2 win. She’s won at today’s distance and at 3 different tracks in her 3 starts. #9 “Madone” is 3 for 3 including 2 non-graded stakes wins, all at today’s distance. #10 “Campanelle” is also 3 for 3, including a Grade 2 and Grade 1.
Race #10: BC Juvenile
Picks: 7-5-9-4
#7 “Jackie’s Warrior” is a perfect 4 for 4, including two Grade 1s and will look to lead them gate to wire once again. #5 “Essential Quality” is 2 for 2, including a Grade 1 victory in his most recent start here at Keeneland. #9 “Sittin On Go” is 2 for 2, including a Grade 3 win last time out. #4 “Likeable” just missed in his debut before scoring an impressive victory in his last effort.
