Breeders’ Cup 2020: Championship Saturday
Breeders’ Cup Championship Day has finally arrived and 9 champions will be crowned. Historic Keeneland will host exceptional fields with some amazing horses competing today. It’s been a rough year but all of that washes away for a few hours as these thoroughbreds race and we’re reminded why this is the Sport of Kings.

Race 1
Picks: 1-3-4-6
#1 “Nashville” comes in 2 for 2 having won by over 20 lengths combined. Today he will add to that total albeit by a smaller margin. #3 “Fore Left” drops in class, returns to the dirt, and shortens up all of which could help him return to form and score a good price. #4 “Bango” won solidly last time. Look for him to be involved early today. #6 “Relentless Dancer” ran 3rd in a Grade 3 last time and won at a similar level in the start before that.
Race 2
Picks: 1-5-8-6
#1 “Engage” takes a big drop in class today after competing at the Graded Stakes level. Look for him to improve in his second start off the layoff. #5 “Edgemont Road” has won his last 2, including here at Keeneland. #8 “Strike That” has won 2 of his last 3, including here at Keeneland. #6 “Sleepy Eyes Todd” take a big drop in class today from Grade 1 and shortens up which should suit his front running style.
Race 3

Race 4: BC Filly and Mare Sprint
Picks: 2-7-1-3
#2 “Gamine” is as fast as they come who is twice a Grade 1 winner. Returning to sprinting today will greatly benefit her. #7 “Serengeti Empress” narrowing missed by a nose last time and has shown championship pedigree in the past. #1 “Speech” will benefit riding just behind the lightning pace and look to pick up the pieces. #3 “Come Dancing” won a Grade 2 last time out and her closing style should be beneficial when the pace is too quick today.
Race 5: BC Turf Sprint
Picks: 7-12-3-1
#7 “Leinster” has won 2 straight Grade 2 turf sprints here at Keeneland and has shown he loves this course over his career. He won 5 straight, including one at Keeneland, before flattening out at the longer Preakness distance. She will try to lead them home today. #10 “Civil Union” has won four in a row including a Grade 1 victory. #14 “Cayenne Pepper” comes over from Europe after winning a Grade 2 in her most recent start. She finished second in her other 3 starts this year.

#2 C Z Rocket has won all five starts for trainer Peter Miller including 2 Grade 2 races. He will look to press the pace before running by in the lane. #10 Yaupon is 4 for 4 lifetime including 2 Graded stakes victories. Picks: 10-5-8-2
#10 “Monomoy Girl” has won all three of her starts this year. Our great champion looks to cap off the season by winning the Distaff as she did in 2018. She is our TOP CHOICE today. #5 “Swiss Skydiver” will look to become the first-ever filly to win both the Distaff and the Preakness after her impressive win at Pimlico. #8 “Valiance” is a winner of three straight, including a Grade 1 here at Keeneland in her last start. #2 “Harvest Moon” is a winner of four straight including two Grade 2 races.
